Mediation Assistance Print This Page
Mediation is the process where couples getting divorced have the opportunity to listen to and talk with each other, share information, consider each other's perspectives, and make voluntary informed decisions, with the assistance and support of an impartial mediator. The mediator does not make decisions for the couple and does not provide legal advice or representation. At the conclusion of the mediation process, if wanted, the mediator will prepare a summary of the decisions reached and if the summary is to become a legally binding agreement, an attorney must draft a formal agreement.
The attorneys in Obermayer’s Family Law Group can guide you through the mediation process and can draft all the required agreements.
